Due to its closed surface, filtration takes place at the junction of the warp and weft yarns. The stainless steel plain dutch mesh is made with a plain weave pattern, so the interlacing pitch of the warp threads is wider than the weft threads. This greatly increases the strength of the grid compared to a square grid.
