As an advanced structural and functional material, Stainless Steel Sintered Metal Felt (SSSFF) has been widely used in sound absorption, phase change heat transfer, energy absorption, jet noise reduction, fuel cell gas diffusion layer, catalyst carrier to remove volatile organic compounds and biological implants. The Stainless Steel Sintered Metal Felt has a three-dimensional network structure, perfect permeability, good thermal stability, excellent corrosion resistance and biocompatibility. As the application expands, special requirements are placed on the properties of the SSSFF, such as rough surfaces and high strength and high porosity. For example, a rough surface can promote the bond strength of the primer to the carrier while using SSSFF as a combustion catalyst support to disperse the active phase. In addition, the Stainless Steel Sintered Metal Felt used to burn the catalyst support should have high strength and high porosity because the carrier must withstand the impact of high velocity gas flow while exhibiting a low pressure drop. Another example is the application of Stainless Steel Sintered Metal Felts in bioimplants for monocyte adhesion and inflammation.
